Our program is a weight loss and weight management program tailored to your specific medical needs, metabolism, and food preferences so that weight loss may be optimized.
The program begins with an initial consultation with both a medical provider and dietitian to assess your overall health.
The data gathered from these assessments help the dietician develop a personal weight loss strategy that will help you meet your goals and fit your lifestyle demands. Each individual is unique, and there may be medically valid reasons why your weight-loss has not been as successful as you would hope or reasons why the exercise is not helping. In addition, motivation and accountability could be stopping you from fulfilling your goals. We offer a support group led by a mediator to keep you motivated and on track to achieving your goal.
- It is about testing to see what your body wants
- It is about determining what your body needs
- It is about what your body can handle
Complete Initial Evaluation
This evaluation will be done for most participants and includes laboratory tests, measurements, an EKG test, a resting metabolic rate test (breath test), and a complete physical exam. The resting metabolic rate test will be performed with you sitting comfortably and wearing a nose clip while you breathe into a device for about 10 minutes. This test accounts for 80% of the calories you would burn in a given day.
The program generally will require weekly visits to review your food and exercise log. In addition, a skill of the week will be introduced for your overall weight loss process. After two months of weekly visits, you will then transition to visits every other week for two months.
